FREE Wood is Now Available through Morris County Park Commission Recycling Program
MORRISTOWN, NJ – Hurricane Sandy left trees down on our streets, in our yards, and throughout our county parks. The Morris County Park Commission has instituted Forest Material Recycling Locations, where fire wood is placed at specified locations throughout Morris County Park Commission parks for patron pickup and use. Help the Park Commission turn lemons into lemonade by utilizing the downed forest material to heat homes and for nighttime campfires.

Un-split firewood ranges in size from three-inch to thirty-inch rounds, and one to two feet long. Firewood is now available at Old Army, near the dog park, in Lewis Morris County Park, Morris Township and Tourne Park in Boonton Township. Forest Material is to be used for private use only, not for commercial or resale use. Cars and medium or regular pickup trucks and vans are invited to Lewis Morris Park and Tourne Park during park operating hours, 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. For more information, please contact info@morrisparks.net.
