Toys Donations Are Needed This Holiday for the “The Timmy Albine’s Memorial Toy Drive”
MORRIS TWP., NJ – The Morris County Park Police once again are leading the effort to collect and distribute toy donations for ill and needy children of all ages for the holidays.

Once known as “Saddle Up for Toys,” this toy drive that began in 2002 by Sgt. Timmy Albine, has grown into one of the area’s most significant annual toy donation program. In memory of Sgt. Albine, this program has been renamed the “Timmy Albine Memorial Toy Drive.” Now, in its eleventh year, the Morris County Park Police are seeking to exceed last year’s donations of over 4,200 toys that were collected and distributed throughout New Jersey, including those areas hit by Hurricane Sandy.

Please help brighten the holidays of ill and needy children in the Morris County area hospitals and shelters by bringing an unwrapped gift to one of the three collection boxes located at selected Morris County Park Commission facilities.

Park Police Headquarters: 300 Mendham Road, Morris Township

Haggerty Education Center: The Frelinghuysen Arboretum 353 East Hanover Avenue, Morris Township

Mennen Sports Arena: 161 East Hanover Avenue, Morris Township

With a generous hearts and helping hands of the community, the Morris County Park Police hope to exceed their annual goal of reaching as many families as possible this holiday season. “It is a privilege and a joy to help make the holiday season brighter for children and families”, said program coordinator, Sgt. Gabe DiPietro, of the Morris County Park Police.

For more information or to donate, please contact Sgt. Gabe DiPietro at 973-326-7632.

Morris County’s Winter Famers’ Market
MORRISTOWN, NJ – Fosterfields Living Historical Farm partners with the Foodshed Alliance Famers’ Access Network and local farmers to bring a monthly winter farmers’ market to Morris County. Beginning Sunday, January 12, the Winter Farmers Market will offer a variety of fresh, locally-produced goods for purchase on the second Sunday of every month through May (1/12, 2/9, 3/9, 4/13, 5/11). Products will include meats, cheeses, artisan breads, prepared foods, honey, preserves, and winter produce grown by farmers within the Foodshed Alliance.

It is more important than ever to eat and shop locally. With the help of the Foodshed Alliance, Sustainable Morristown, and the Morris County Park Commission, locally-produced goods are available for purchase at a convenient location, throughout the colder months. Mark Sutherland, Manager of Historic Sites, stated, “Supporting our local farmers is so important to us here at Fosterfields. In the winter months finding a place to purchase these goods becomes a challenge due to the lack of famers’ markets. It gives the Morris County Park Commission great pleasure to be a part of the effort to bring locally grown and raised products to Morris County through all the seasons.’

The Market is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and is located in the Visitors Center at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm on 73 Kahdena Road in Morris Township. For more information on the participating farms and products please visit, www.njlocalfood.com.
